The H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards celebrate public school professionals whose leadership and dedication inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.
With more than $600,000 in cash prizes awarded to deserving teachers, principals, and school districts, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards is the largest monetary recognition program for educators in Texas and one of the largest in the nation.
In honor of the program celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2011, H-E-B is introducing a new award category — The H-E-B Fit Campus Award — for which nominations can also be submitted. The new category will recognize 10 campuses that are going above and beyond to educate children, parents and staff members about the importance of health and wellness. The winning campuses will receive the designation as an “H-E-B Fit Campus” and a cash prize of $10,000 each.
Nominations for the 2011 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards can be submitted online at www.heb.com/education through November 26, 2010. It only takes one nomination to place a teacher, principal, school campus or district on the path toward winning a cash prize ranging from $5,000 to $100,000.
