2012 TSPRA ANNUAL CONFERENCE • FEBRUARY 13-15
SHERATON HOTEL AT THE CAPITOL, AUSTIN, TEXAS
TSPRA will accept proposals to present at the 2012 annual conference through Friday, October 14. Applicants must use the online form below. All applicants will receive an email in late fall to inform them whether or not TSPRA will include their session in the conference line-up. If you have any questions, please contact the TSPRA state office at 512-474-9107 or info@tspra.org.
Each February, the TSPRA Annual Conference draws hundreds of public school communicators from across the state network with and learn from the best. Without exemplary public school communicators who are willing to share their knowledge and experience to inspire others, we wouldn't have a conference!

Tips for your proposal based on previous attendee feedback:
- Anticipate timely issues attendees will face after they leave the conference (March-May) and provide insight and resources on how they can effectively prepare for those issues
- Many attendees say they're past the "Intro to Social Media" course on why it's important for your district to get involved; they're looking for 201-level courses on how to keep content fresh, how to write usage policy, how to measure its success, etc.
- Consider sharing a case study-type profile of a district(s) facing an issue, how they addressed it and what the outcome was
- Create clear session titles and descriptions.Vague or misleading titles and descriptions frustrate attendees.
- Our attendees run the gamut of experience level and district size, so all perspectives are appreciated
- Consider tailoring your message to appeal to one of our audience groups (general, rookie, veteran, social media/web, EMP, Ed Foundation rookie, Ed Foundation veteran)
By filling out the application, the presenter agrees to the following terms:
- If the session application is accepted, presenters are responsible for their own hotel, travel and fees
- Breakout rooms will be equipped with a projector, screen, VGA cable (to connect PC laptop to projector) and extension cord; presenter will be responsible for furnishing any additional equipment (laptop, speakers, handouts, Mac connector cable, etc.)
- The Conference Committee will make every effort to accommodate presenters' time slot preference and request for internet connection, but cannot guarantee it due to limited resources
- Any presenters who plan on attending conference sessions or events are required to register and pay for the conference.
