The annual SchoolMessenger Act Local Grant program recognizes one K12 public school district each year that has used communications programs and public relations to make a positive impact in their local community. Northside ISD was singled out this year for its innovative use of social media to engage parents and its local community. The District can use its award to fund additional communications programs or communications scholarships for students.
"We are very excited to be awarded this grant from SchoolMessenger in recognition of our expansion of ways to communicate more effectively and efficiently with our various audiences," said Monica Faulkenbery, APR, Assistant Director of Communications for Northside ISD. "We hope to use the grant monies to assist others in our district in learning how they can expand their communication techniques and methods."
"It is a privilege for SchoolMessenger to offer the Act Local Grant program,” said Nate Brogan, vice president of marketing for SchoolMessenger. “We are always looking for ways to support and recognize education leaders who use communications to improve academic achievement, increase parent involvement and better engage their communities. This award is the ideal way for us to provide that support.”
