About the Blog

Welcome to the blog of the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA)! We’ve created this blog as a service to our members, to those involved in the public school and/or communication arenas and to the general public. This is a forum, authored by TSPRA members and moderated by TSPRA staff, to discuss pertinent issues currently facing communications professionals in Texas’s public schools. We invite you to use this site to spur intellectual discussion, gain knowledge and tools for professional development and connect with communicators across the state. We welcome any feedback you may have.

TSPRA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, professional organization based in Austin, Texas and dedicated to promoting public schools through effective communication. An award-winning chapter of the National Public Relations Association (NSPRA), TSPRA’s more than 1,000 members are comprised primarily of public information and communication professionals who serve the public education organizations of Texas. Members also include education foundation staff, public school board members, school leadership and administration, electronic media professionals and vendors who support public education in our state.
