Traditionally, school districts and communities across Texas have celebrated
the success of public education during Texas Public Schools Week (TPSW) during the first full week in March. Each year, the
Texas
School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) creates a Texas Public
Schools Week Kit, with a theme and logo, that will help schools in our state promote public
education! But this year we have created a kit that can be used all year long to celebrate our Texas public schools. Our new campaign is called
CELEBRATE TEXAS PUBLIC SCHOOLS
TSPRA
is the sole source provider of the kit, which is available as a packet of materials or on a CD. The kit order form was mailed to all public school campuses, superintendents, TSPRA members and any one who ordered our kit last year. Orders are taken from October
through mid-March. Kits are available and shipped from early January through September of 2008. Although Texas Public Schools Week is traditionally celebrated the first full week in March, districts may choose a different week to celebrate that works well with their schedule. The kit includes: - Creative ideas on involving students, parents and the community not only in your TPSW events, but all year long at groundbreakings, back to school events, etc.
- Information in both spanish and english
- Logos and materials you can reproduce to publicize your special events and activities
- Sample press releases, board resolutions and proclamations as well as newspaper ads and public service announcements
- The history of public education in Texas and brief biographies of notable Texas Public School alumni
- Lesson plans and other resources
- Information on ordering Celebrate Texas Public Schools specialty items - stickers, ribbons, pencils and other items - from Brady Hull & Associates, our sole source provider of these items
